How To Relieve Stress From A Structured Settlement Complication - Work It Daily

Instructions to Relieve Stress From A Structured Settlement Complication - Work It Daily In the event that you are one of the lucky working people among us, congrats; yet all may not be well. Stress might be influencing your presentation. Nonetheless, the pressure might not have anything to do with your profession. Everything in the work environment might be a shelter. However, in the event that outside impacts are starting to infringe on your exhibition, it might be an ideal opportunity to find a way to deal with individual issues before the profession is at risk for being wrecked. There is one circumstance that doesn't influence everybody. It is conceivable that others would see themselves as blessed to share the conditions you have, notwithstanding the weight of pressure. On the off chance that you are troubled by challenges with an organized settlement that isn't contributing an adequate sum, in any event, when joined with your pay, to meet month to month commitments, nothing will influence work execution and individual prosperity like a money related squeeze. Luckily, there are approaches to stand up to and conquer the pressure. Have A Brief Discussion With Your Manager HIPAA guidelines preclude a director's questions into individual difficulties, however they can get some information about the impact of the weight on your activity execution. Every one of that should be referenced is that there are close to home issues you are attempting to work out and that you will attempt to keep up anticipated execution while settling them. The administrator may have a few suggestions for help by qualified counsels. Think about them. Begin Making Inquiries Since guarantees have been made busy working, the individual worldview must change on the grounds that business as usual isn't working. Despite the fact that an organized settlement may specify that the annuity can't be sold, don't expect that entryway is shut. Begin making requests with a trustworthy annuity deal organization to walk you through the subtleties of defeating what seems, by all accounts, to be a strong, unfaltering agreement. It is likely alterable and may be cultivated inside 30 days. Your director ought to be satisfied with your genius to arrive at an answer so rapidly. Gather The Details Of The Annuity In the event that you have picked a legitimate annuity deal organization, the time has come to gather the subtleties of the annuity and its payout timetable to give all the data with respect to the annuity. That way, a proposition available to be purchased can be executed and cited to you. Maybe your money related squeeze is an impermanent circumstance that doesn't require the offer of everything of the annuity. You can sell a part of it and keep up the equalization as an organized settlement as now being paid out. Likewise, you have to comprehend that whatever part of the annuity would be sold, the full estimation of the bit won't be paid. There will be a reasoning pace of a cited rate and just the equalization less the rebate will be paid out. Contact Your Creditors Your subsequent stage is to contact every one of your leasers to prompt them (without broadly expounding regarding how it will be practiced) that you will have them settled up inside 30 to 45 days (permit yourself a pad), and will have the option to keep them current with full regularly scheduled installments as initially concurred. At the point when your annuity sells and you have the money close by, meet your guaranteed commitments to clear the obligations that have caused so much pressure. When finished, the weight lifted will probably be self-evident. Go to your administrator at any rate to exhort that your circumstance is totally settled and your exhibition has no further obstructions. Cleverness pays from multiple points of view. You have designed an annuity deal and stopped hands on pressure. Photograph Credit: Shutterstock Have you joined our vocation development club?Join Us Today!

The tips above will give you a strong establishment with which to construct your ATS relationship. This post was composed by James Hu, who is the originator and CEO of Jobscan, an instrument that helps work searchers land more meetings by looking at one's resqume against any set of working responsibilities for watchwords and match rate.

When Is The Best Time To Schedule A Job Interview

West End Office: City Office: When is one of the best time to schedule an interview? When you’re looking for a new job, time is treasured. This is very true when you’re already in employment. Finding the time to take calls, not to mention setting aside a few hours for an interview can take its toll on other commitments. For that reason, it’s tempting to squeeze it in whenever you possibly can. But that may be a mistake. Why? Because the day and time may significantly impression the outcome of your interview with a prospective employer. The proper day Ask yourself the way you typically feel on a Monday. Are you raring to go for the week ahead and centered? We’d guess that’s in all probability not the case on most Mondays! So it’s most likely an identical state of affairs for your interviewer. If they’re not feeling 100% it’s realistically not going to be advantageous so that you can meet with them. Having said that, Friday might be not a great day both. In our office w e’re often speeding to tie up our loose ends before the weekend and are juggling multiple priorities. In the context of your interview, you’d like your interviewer to be totally centered on you and the conversation somewhat than contemplating all the opposite meetings and listing of duties they've yet to complete. So Monday is not any good, and neither is Friday. Our opinion is that Tuesday promises to be the optimum day for a constructive meeting, with Wednesday and Thursday following in second and third place. A U.S.-primarily based survey (1) of HR executives supports our theory, with 57% of respondents believing Tuesday to be the most efficient day for employees. The right time So Tuesday’s the day. What in regards to the time? Dan Reilly, Duke Professor of Behavioural Economics and Chief Behavioural Officer at Timeful, lately commented on reddit: “Generally individuals are best in the morning. The two hours after turning into absolutely awake are more likely to be one o f the best.”(2) Additional research performed by the National Academy of Science (3) show that we suffer from determination fatigue when we make a number of choices inside a short timeframe. Essentially, the final selections of the day will be the hardest to make as our critical considering ability degenerates. The researchers examined over 1,000 judicial rulings over various occasions in the course of the day and found that the judges were most probably to provide beneficial rulings firstly of the day, or straight after a food break. If your interviewer has been meeting prospective candidates all day long, you don’t wish to be the last. So mornings it is. We’d advocate aiming for a mid-late time between 10-eleven.30am if attainable. Any earlier and you (or the interviewer) would possibly get caught up in rush hour, and ideally we wish to minimise any risks of tardiness or stress! 10am on Tuesday If it’s within your power to recommend this time as an choice, that’s nice! I f not, bear the above points in thoughts whenever you verify your interview time. There’s no such factor as being over-prepared so make sure you go away sufficient time aside to research the enterprise, your interviewees, and the position. How long does it REALLY take to improve your life

To what extent does it REALLY take to improve your life To what extent does it REALLY take to improve your life Changing one's life is an extensive procedure. We are so eager. We long for the time being achievement or a one-week life change. Some way or another, it's so natural to overlook that your life expectancy is estimated in decades. One night or multi week is just a small portion of your life.So to what extent does it truly take to improve your life? The results shift, as is commonly said. They are three realized strategies to change one's conduct: a revelation a difference in condition (what encompasses you) a difference in propensities Here comes the triple disclosure about revelations: A revelation changes human life the most rapidly, here and there instantly or inside a couple of moments. Revelation stories get a madly unbalanced measure of media inclusion. A revelation is difficult to design. I'm certain you've known about the narratives of grandparents who significantly changed their way of life and improved their wellbeing in light of the fact that their sweet little grandchildren instructed them not to kick the bucket too early. Or on the other hand the accounts of addicts who met Jesus. Or then again accounts of individuals who had a brush with death and came out of that absolutely different.A snapshot of choice, one short occasion and they turned their lives around.I'm sure you've heard such stories since they got amazingly overwhelming media inclusion. They draw consideration. They flash intrigue. They sell. Along these lines, pretty much each and every revelation story is secured. They are an easy decision for media outlets. And it fools you into feeling that a revelation is an approach to improve your life. It's not.The one thing the media doesn't make reference to when covering those accounts is that each and every time a revelation is going on TO the individual. N o one has ever designed a revelation. It's impossible. In my assessment, it takes a higher capacity to make a revelation. For realists, it takes a totally mind boggling, arbitrary situation to cause a revelation to occur. You know, nearly as the unpredictable situation, as a totally arbitrary formation of the universe with a horde of measurements and laws that make a human life in this universe possible.Anyway, you can't make a revelation. You can dare to dream it will transpire one day. What's more, it's a helpless procedure for assuming responsibility for your life.A change of condition can be generally quick. For instance, you move to another nation to find another line of work and your life quickens like there's no tomorrow. Or then again you get hitched, move out of your folks' home and start a family. Or on the other hand you get pregnant and your pregnancy inspires you to improve your life in a manner that has consistently evaded you.The triple revelation about the difference in condition: It is difficult to design either. Your attitude consistently disrupts the general flow. Consequently, it doesn't occur as frequently as we will in general think. How regularly do you change an occupation, move to another city/nation, or get hitched or pregnant without precedent for your life? Substantially more regularly than encountering a revelation, yet at the same time not frequently, right?Such significant life shifts have likewise a propensity to transpire. I changed employments since I was terminated. Our first child wasn't arranged. Ha, ha, nor both of the two after kids. Here is the thing: the more you live, the harder is to present a critical difference in condition. At the point when I chose to improve my life at 33 years old, I had been hitched for a long time, had three children, a 35-year contract and an all day work. I just couldn't leave my previous lifestyle behind.People get hitched, have children and change employments constantly, and an actual existence change doesn't follow those occasions. Why? Since regardless of how your condition transforms, you take your old attitude with you unfailingly. Your own way of thinking is t he equivalent and it just MAY move in new circumstances. But one of our inside cerebrum components is RAS that channels out everything around and gives to your cognizant brain just a purposely curated 'public statements' of the real world. At the end of the day, you are continually searching for realities and contentions that affirm your current way of thinking. Also, you don't change much.Hence, the huge improvement of life because of changing what encompasses you isn't normal. It occurs, however it doesn't occur each time.Change of HabitsOn the other hand, in the event that you follow the course #3 â€" changing your propensities â€" it happens inevitably. In his book, The Power of Habit, Charles Duhigg recounts to an account of some exploration. Researchers were keen on the explanation for transforming one… Some individuals can improve their lives and others aren't? What's the factor that clarifies it? What's the first cause? They began with ordinary predisposition, they were sear ching for tracks of illumination or change of environmental factors. They believed that an abrupt transformation, passing in a family or some other disaster might be acceptable clarifications for the adjustment in human conduct. They talked with individuals who had the option to bring their carries on with in the groove again and they were astounded by the revelation of the first cause. It was a change in quite a while. Truth be told, regularly it was a solitary new propensity that began the torrential slide of improvement. What I finish up is that courses #1 and #2 are just easy routes to changing one's propensities. On the off chance that you convert in view of illumination and join a strict request your day by day life is entirely different from it was. On the off chance that you move to another nation, you lose a considerable lot of your old propensity triggers and it makes space for building new habits. An edification and the adjustment in your environmental factors don't change y our life straightforwardly; they change your life since they lead you to change your propensities, in this way the improvement of your life. And changing your propensities takes months, not days. Building up a solitary propensity takes in excess of several months all things considered. That is, concurring to the just generally cited study from the European Journal of Psychology about this subject. I think this examination is excessively hopeful since it was slanted toward accomplishment in research center conditions. In a reality, it takes even longer. And indeed, a solitary propensity. Each master says that it's exponentially simpler to create each propensity in turn than two. End: you need in any event a couple of months to improve your life.Of course, expecting your new propensity has the extraordinary limit. It is one thing to begin a private diary and compose for five minutes every day, and another to begin composing a book for two hours per day and afterward really distribute it.Usually, a solitary propensity isn't as persuasive and you need a cooperative energy of a few propensities to change over it into a huge improvement of your life. How long does it REALLY take to improve your life?Exercise is a cornerstone propensity, one of the two found by researchers searching for the main source of perpetual change in a person's conduct. A cornerstone propensity is a propensity that prompts a course of other positive activities. As it were, it drives you to grow all the more great propensities, even without your cognizant choice and apparently without all the exertion implied with building up another control. Brian Tracy clarified it most aptly:Keystone prop ensities are propensities that have a multiplier or a domino impact in your life.If your goal isn't set at the improvement of your entire life and if the extent of the propensity is shy of extraordinary limit, in any event, presenting a cornerstone propensity won't assist you with improving your life fast.It took me around seven years. In 2006 I came back to my propensity for doing a solitary sequential arrangement of pushups to the point of disappointment. I simply needed to lose some weight.Exercising was as yet a cornerstone propensity and I grew all the more great propensities without cognizant reflection or much exertion. In a couple of months, I coupled my morning exercise with my morning petition and that cemented both of the disciplines.A barely any years not far off I began utilizing plans for the day and agendas to curb the bedlam of my day by day obligations. I purchased a draw up bar and began doing pullups and jaw ups nearly on ordinary premise. Toward the start of 2012, I at last altered my eating regimen into an option that could be more beneficial than the doughnuts I was so affectionate of.So I got 3-4 new great propensities on account of my activity propensity. They rose unexpectedly, precisely like a cornerstone propensity works. The Improvement ProcessBut it took me six long a very long time to show up at this level. It also prepared me for the message of The Slight Edge. I generally thought achievement was something stupendous, in this manner out of my span. In his book, Jeff Olson clarified that achievement is a couple of straightforward orders rehashed over time.I was suspicious like heck, however I had a couple of encounters from my own life when I followed some little trains and succeeded. The most unmistakable and new one was my pushups propensity. I didn't get in shape, however my quality expanded. My exhibition moved over 300% in those six years. This experience made me imagine that possibly Olson was anything but a self improvement i mbecile master and perhaps I can prevail in my life.A year later, in August 2013, I had many new every day propensities and I began another career; I turned into a writer. It took me a long time since beginning my first propensity to escape the life of a calm franticness and really planning something for improve my life. That's LONG! Yet at the same time just 18% of my life expectancy as of today. And it took me FIVE additional years to really improve my life, not just myself. In the most recent five years I beat several wellness records, distributed 13 books, purchased our first home, began a web based training practice, breezed through a couple of tests and got a couple of expert endorsements, composed more than 1,750,000 words, multiplied my salary, distributed more than 1,000 answers on Quora, sold many thousand duplicates of my books, changed a vocation, began a book promoting business, scaled back my business to halftime… My life not just improved, it exploded. However, a couple of most effective things from the above rundown occurred over the most recent TWO years and the most critical ones â€" cutting back my normal everyday employment and the accomplishment of my Resurrecting Books service â€"occurred in the last year. And let us never loosen in doing great; for in the event that we don't surrender, we

A Beginners Guide to a New Management Position - Margaret Buj - Interview Coach

A Beginners Guide to a New Management Position - Margaret Buj - Interview Coach We all know there is a weak spot in everything that exists. For a tree, the weak spot is the limb. For our careers, it’s a new job, especially a promotion into management. The reason it is a weak spot, is that we arrogantly think that what got us here will continue to serve us well going forward. That thinking is the trap. We fail to realize that with each promotion, the job is different, as well as the expectation of us in that new and higher position. Oops! Let’s look at some rookie mistakes: Failure to understand the job. This may sound odd, but a big mistake is not fully understanding your job as a manager. Job descriptions vary wildly and when you are standing off to the side, it’s easy to see only the more superficial elements to a job. You don’t really know it until you’re in it. Making your employees your friends. While it’s great to work well and garner the respect of your employees, you are crossing a line when you make them your buddy. Perhaps the line isn’t a legal one or even policy, but you will have to make tough decisions that will impact others. You may make bad decisions because of it and even if you don’t, you risk some major backlash. Not recognizing that you must change. Even if you are promoted for the same company and department you’ve been in, you simply must change. The job is not the same as the last one you had no matter how similar it might seem. No plan for integration. There’s a reason why you think about training a new employee â€" because they have things to learn. So do you. Everyone in a new job has a period of integration, which means things to learn. Here’s how to avoid these mistakes: Make a learning/integration plan. While you’re at it, figure out what your job is and how you will approach it. Don’t assume you know everything. You will receive respect if your employees see your openness and desire to learn. Sure, you do know a few things and you should do those well to start with. Be friendly, but not a friend. There is a difference between the two. Your people will love you if you are available, friendly and easy to talk to. If you personally have an issue separating the two, then seek advice for approaches that can help you. Plan for a win. As you are learning your job, you should be finding many problems or challenges to solve. Take note of those and plan to visibly solve some “low hanging fruit”. It will help establish your credibility as a new manager and confirm in management’s mind that they made a good decision. You can take a very real weak spot and fortify it with the right approach. When you do, you will ensure your success. Most people have no one helping them figure out how to be successful in their career or how to get to that next level â€" until now. 10 Insider Lessons No One in the Business World Will Teach You

10 Insider Lessons No One in the Business World Will Teach You It took me years to grasp why individuals worked so distinctively in the corporate world from the manner in which I worked â€" or anticipated that them should work. From one viewpoint, my unwavering focus, assurance, aspiration, and creativity helped me exceed expectations in my career because these qualities were exceptionally esteemed in the serious business culture; then again, I found that when it came to relationship building abilities â€" especially organizing, utilizing impact, and situating â€" my worth framework was altogether different from the one I met in the business world. Turns out my folks didnt bring up a child who was prepared to confront the relentless professional workplace, which is normally the situation for many fresh graduates who originate from similarly protective and safe foundations. In any case, the corporate world is this present reality, and we need to figure out how to explore it effectively. To assist you with finding a workable pace substantially more rapidly than I, Im sharing some of the unwritten rules of the game. No one will disclose to you these things. A large portion of us need to make sense of them all alone â€" however perusing this guide can give you a head start on the opposition. 1. Your Worth to the Company Is Tied to Your Last Performance Evaluation Im totally serious. Regardless of whether you were a top entertainer for a long time in succession, youre bound on the off chance that you didnt figure out how to get a top rating this year, as well, for reasons unknown. I know, not all organizations are the equivalent. You may believe that in your astonishing organization, managers really plunk down and assess every one of your outcomes, contrast them with your companions, iron out the distinctions in remaining tasks at hand and obligations, and give you a reasonable appraisal. That might be valid for a few, however a significant number of you are in for a severe shock. 2. A few People Are Only Nice to You When You Are Influential or They Need You When your level of influence changes or they no longer need you, so does their conduct. Unfortunately, it is regularly the situation that somebody who turned into your closest companion wont even say to such an extent as Hi once your job changes. As though that werent enough to stun the living hell out of you, that equivalent individual may before long be back in your group and have the daringness to treat you like a companion once more. Ive encountered this twice, and I am as yet confused with regards to how individuals can oversee such outrageous degrees of duplicity. Maybe they think I experience the ill effects of amnesia? 3. Advancements Are Not Linked to Performance â€" They Are Linked to the Perception of Your Performance We as a whole view things through our own focal points. My guide of the world could be definitely unique in relation to your guide in light of our differing values, convictions, encounters, and societies. At the point when you are working in a different, multiethnic association staffed by people from a wide range of societies and foundations, contrasts in observation can matter a lot. Recognition is reality. On the off chance that you need to propel, it is basic that you depict the privilege picture of your work and results to the leaders who matter. 4. Being in the Right Place at the Right Time Can Matter More Than Results We as a whole realize that lucky smarty pants who got advanced before every other person notwithstanding their mediocre results. How could they figure out how to do that? Building your picture, systems administration, and presentation can get you puts you never at any point dreamed of. Dont depend on your supervisor to do it for you. Make a system of powerful pioneers, patrons, and guides who know you and your accomplishments. Then, as soon as an open door opens up, youll be top of mind with all the correct leaders. 5. When Youre a Star, Most of Your Mistakes Will Be Forgiven I have had the benefit of committing some possibly profession deadly errors that went overlooked because I was conveying results and the board apparent me as a star. Simultaneously, Ive seen situations where the executives was just angling for botches so they could kiss a worker farewell. The key is to be tireless and wary consistently, particularly when you are not completely meeting expectations. Indeed, even the smallest issue can push you into difficulty. 6. High-Paid Opinions Hold More Weight than Low-Paid Facts There are the genuine information and realities, and afterward there are assessments and situating. The assessments of more generously compensated (and higher-positioning) individuals matter more in many associations. In any event, when lower-paid (and lower-positioning) individuals have information and realities on their sides, top administration has the correct and authority to do however they see fit. The prior you get familiar with this, the better. 7. Once in a while Its Okay to Dissent â€" and Sometimes It Isnt Most organizations support straight talk and need you to express your genuine thoughts. What they dont let you know is that, in the event that you talk your mind too frequently, you may be named as negative, skeptical, or narcissistic. There will be times when you need to pick between being justified and being utilized. Before you exclaim your assessment, ask yourself what is in question. How could your supposition be seen? Is there a conflict between what you are stating and what the organization needs? Be vital if youre going to oppose this idea. Back up your message with information, and convey it in a non-angry tone. As you may know, its not the words that get individuals off their seats; its the tone. 8.Theres a Fine Line Between Gaining Experience and Growing Rusty You feel that because you have 10 years of involvement with your class of business, you are not just profoundly important to your organization yet in addition an incredible catch for your rivals? All things considered, reconsider! In those 10 years, you have been essentially doing likewise again and again, working with nearly the equivalent precise individuals the entire time. Have you at any point conveyed really sure thing results? For what reason would anybody be keen on you over the other guy who has worked in three distinct associations, focused in to deliver in each job hes held, and drove his groups to heavenly outcomes? The exercise here: Dont get corroded. 9. Never Associate Your Self-Worth With Your Position or Performance It feels great when you are the champ â€" however what happens when you arent? What's more, there will be times when you arent. Regardless of whether youre the following Mark Zuckerberg or Steve Jobs, you will undoubtedly bomb en route. How would you respond when you fall flat? Do you tie your self-esteem and self-esteem to your work? You will be totally hopeless on the off chance that you do. You need to remember that there are numerous components outside of your immediate impact that decide your prosperity. If you somehow managed to pound yourself for flopping in those ares, it wouldnt be reasonable. Invest heavily in the various jobs you have in life when troubles arise at work. 10. It Is Easy to Thrive on Mediocrity; Dont Fall for it Dont be your very own casualty achievement. After youve spent years learning all the standards of the game, youll realize how to play it with exactness. By then, it will turn out to be anything but difficult to fall into the snare of unremarkableness. So imagine a scenario where you dont have heavenly outcomes. You can outline it in any case. So imagine a scenario in which you got disregarded for an advancement. You have the correct supporters, and they will pay special mind to you next year. So consider the possibility that youve been on a flop task throughout the previous three years. In any event you have a steady, lucrative employment. This attitude is a kiss of death. Its impeding to your learning and development; it is the way that ensures you get corroded. You dont need to. Institute a zero-resistance approach for average quality, regardless of how great youve gotten at playing the game. Push your limits and break the tedium. â€" Dont battle as I did. Surrender yourself a leg in the business world. Get familiar with these principles today, and truly acknowledge them. You may feel overpowered and even a little sorrowful at this moment, yet youll express gratitude toward me later. A variant of this article initially showed up on Entrepreneur. Nine sure-fire ways not to get the job!

Nine sure-fire ways not to get the job! As careers advisors we see lots of amazing job candidates and great applications. Sometimes, however, it’s not quite so good and experience tells us that a student just isn’t going to be in the running for that dream job. So, what are the very worst things you can do which are likely to guarantee that your application is not going to progress? 1. Fail to research the organisation you’ve applied to. We’ve recently been observing recruitment interviews and were mortified when candidates were asked what they knew about the employing organisation. It was clear that some candidates had not bothered to find out anything. See our Webpage for advice on how to research effectively. 2. Ignore the Job Description or Person Specification. Sometimes when candidates are asked what they understand by the job role, they describe a job which bears no resemblance to the actual job they’re applying for! It creates the impression that they’re describing the job they want, not the one which is actually available. Lack of  insight into the job  betrays not only a lack of preparation but also a lack of motivation for and interest in the role. 3. Arrive late for the interview- and fail even to apologise. What can I say…….this scenario will simply not end well. Generally throughout any recruitment process you need to be unfailingly polite. Nobody wants to take on the rude employee! 4. Ask  Careers for advice and expertise, then challenge and  ignore  it. Weve all heard it. “But my friend/family member/senior says (for example) that it’s fine to have a 5-page CV.” Well it’s not! Before you seek the advice of others, consider their credentials. Is your friend/family member/senior employed by the organisation you specifically want to work for? Do they work as a graduate recruiter? If the answer is yes, then there will clearly be some specific value in what they know. Remember though that  Careers Consultants speak to and visit graduate recruiters across a range of different sectors constantly,  we can give you up to date and accurate information and advice. Its  our job. 5. Claim you have amazing communication skills and provide no evidence. What on earth does “outstanding communicator” mean? What kind of communication? Verbal, written, inter-cultural? In what context? How were you effective in demonstrating this? It’s ironic really, as by failing to qualify with evidence, you are clearly demonstrating the exact opposite of effective communication skills! (See our  blog  post  for good advice on  how to demonstrate your skills effectively). 6. Fail to plan ahead. For example, arrange an interview for just after your plane has landed so that when the flight has been delayed you can’t let anyone know as you are still ‘in flight!’ All attempts to rescue this one are likely to undermine any claims of effective planning examples you may have claimed in your application. Global travel does not trump good time management. 7. Fail to understand what is meant by “Tell me a bit about yourself”. This is not about listing your qualifications and interests  or talking about where you are studying   all information that the recruiter can see perfectly well from your application. This is time for your elevator pitch    Have a look at  Helen Stringers advice on how to answer this very  question.  You should also have a look at my posts on strengths based  interviewing. This is a strengths question. Understand what the employer is getting at. 8. Decide that recruiters don’t pay any attention to the cover letter. Yes- someone has actually said this even though the application clearly asked for a cover letter! Recruiters have a tough job screening applications, they don’t ask for things they don’t want. Ignoring what they ask for will guarantee you that rejection! 9. Make assumptions without any real evidence to back them up. “My friend applied to x organisation last year and got in without having to sit an assessment centre.” Are you sure their processes will be the same this time round? Check it out recruiters are constantly updating their recruitment methods. Which ones have moved to Strengths-based interviews? Which are using Situational Judgement Tests? You would not make the same assumptions when undertaking an academic assignment you would check the robustness of your information sources. Graduate recruitment works the same way. “Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance”. George Bernard Shaw
